Supermarket Belongs to the Community

Supermarket belongs to the community. While Chef has the responsibility to keep it running and be stewards of its functionality, what it does and how it works is driven by the community. The chef/supermarket repository will continue to be where development of the Supermarket application takes place. Come be part of shaping the direction of Supermarket by opening issues and pull requests or by joining us on the Chef Mailing List.

Running the tests

For the unit tests just execute the default rake task:

$ bundle install
$ bundle exec rake

Run the integration tests through test kitchen (Vagrant and VirtualBox are needed for this):

$ bundle exec kitchen test

Vagrant usage

For testing the cookbook with Vagrant 1.2+ you just have to execute

It installs the required Vagrant plugins and launchs the machine. After the process you have a orientdb instance running in orientdb.local host, ip (you may need to provide root privileges to allow vagrant-hostmanager do its duty).

  1. Fork the repository on Github
  2. Create a named feature branch (like add_component_x)
  3. Write you change
  4. Write tests for your change
